This Privacy Policy explains how Mastery Prep Labs ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the EA Exam Prep mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication (via Google Sign-In or email and password). Each account is assigned a unique identifier.
- Study and usage data. We store your study progress, flashcard ratings, practice question answers and results, study preferences, streaks, and in-app activity, so your progress is saved and synced across your devices.
- Device and technical data. We collect your device model, operating system version, app version, language setting, and a mobile advertising identifier, as well as crash and error diagnostics.
- Approximate location. We may infer an approximate region from your IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Notifications. If you enable notifications, we store a device messaging token so we can send study reminders and updates.
- Purchase information. If you buy a premium subscription, we receive a purchase confirmation token from Google Play to verify and activate your subscription. Payment card details are handled entirely by Google Play and are never received by us.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App and save your study progress
- To personalize your study plan and experience
- To send study reminders and important notices (if you enable them)
- To display advertising
- To process and verify subscription purchases
- To diagnose crashes and improve the App
- To maintain the security and integrity of the App
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following Google services, which process data on our behalf:
- Firebase Authentication — account sign-in
- Cloud Firestore — storage of your study data
- Firebase Analytics — usage analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash and error reporting
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications
- Google AdMob — advertising
- Google Play Services and Google Play Billing — app distribution and purchases
These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Advertising
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob may collect and use a mobile advertising identifier and related data.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent prompt that lets you choose whether the ads you see are personalized. You can change your choice at any time through the App's privacy options.

5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the third-party service providers listed above, as needed to operate the App, and where required by law.
6. Data Retention and Your Choices
We retain your data while your account is active. Within the App you can:
- Reset your study progress at any time
- Delete your account, which removes your account and associated study data
You may also contact us to request access to or deletion of your data. After account deletion, your personal data is removed from our active systems; some information may persist briefly in backups or where retention is required by law.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for adults preparing for the IRS Enrolled Agent examination. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures, including the security infrastructure provided by Google Firebase, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
9. International Users
Your information is processed and stored on Google's infrastructure, which may be located in countries other than the one in which you reside.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice.
